Helicopter beach patrols from now until April

Catherine MasseyBusselton Dunsborough Times

The State Government invested $7.78 million in South West helicopter patrols this week and continues to roll out Beach Emergency Number signs across the coast.

Surf Life Saving WA will run the patrols from now until April 30 next year.

The patrols will run daily during the school holidays, peak periods, weekends and public holidays.

Fisheries Minister Peter Tinley said the two safety initiatives were key aspects of the Government’s shark mitigation strategy, which was “the most comprehensive approach to preventing and responding to shark attacks in the country.”
