Immediate past president of the Busselton Oral History Group Margaret Dawson was last week awarded life membership of the group.
Awarded an OAM earlier this year for her involvement in the group, Mrs Dawson began interviewing for the organisation in 1985 and has continued to interview Busselton residents over the past 30 years.
She served as the group’s co-ordinator from 1995-2000 and as the president from 2011-2018, stepping down earlier this year.
During her time with the group she has interviewed people from different ethnic backgrounds and has also been involved in the publishing of two books relating to the region’s history.
Mrs Dawson said she was honoured to be recognised for her work with the group.
