Hit and run witnesses sought

Police are calling for witnesses to a hit and run in Geographe last night, which resulted in a woman being airlifted to Perth.

At about 11.15 pm two bicycle riders, a man and a woman, were travelling in an easterly direction along Marine Terrace when they were struck from behind by a vehicle.

After striking the cyclists, the vehicle continued, in an easterly direction without stopping.

The man and woman, both in their 20s, were treated at the scene by St John Ambulance before they were take to Busselton Health Campus.

The woman’s health deteriorated and she was airlifted to Perth due to a serious head injury.

She also received a leg injury, whilst the man received minor injuries.

The vehicle involved is described a large dark coloured four wheel drive with possible windscreen damage.
