Busselton Squash Club life member Warren Oliver was recently recognised for his service to the sport at the WA Squash Masters 40th year celebrations at Pagoda Ballroom in Como.

Oliver, pictured right with Roger Campbell, was awarded the 2020 Award for Services to Masters after working tirelessly to keep the South West Masters Teams Tournament, formerly the Busselton Masters Teams Tournament, on the annual Masters program.

Before court closures in the Busselton CBD, the Masters Tournament ran for almost 40 years, bringing thousands of people to the region from WA and interstate.

Oliver said he was eager to continue to plat for BSC at The Sebel Resort and hopes to host a WA masters event in Busselton as soon as suitable courts are built.

Recently, the City of Busselton endorsed a 10-year Sports and Recreation Facility Strategy that will see suitable courts possibly delivered in 2027-28. Busselton Squash Club president Ryan Callegari said when the project was completed, Busselton Squash would look to restore interstate visits and create a sister relationship within the Singapore Squash Rackets Association.

BSC is on the hunt for junior players who play every Monday of the school term from 4pm.
