Jetty swim sells out in record time

Eager entrants caused the registration site for the 26th SunSmart Busselton Jetty Swim to crash on Monday when more than 24,000 devices jumped online in the first minute of its launch.
The launch was postponed until Tuesday, which resulted in all 3300 entries selling out in a record-breaking one hour and 18 minutes.
Co-ordinator Di Bruce said the organising committee was hopeful the Busselton Jetty Swim would take place as scheduled on February 13 and 14.
This year, swimmers will be vying to break the Open Female record of Jaime Bowler, 42min.48sec. and the Open Male record of Rhys Mainstone, 39:35.2
Busselton Jetty Swim race director Kat Rafferty said organisers were always amazed by the event’s popularity.
