Junior swimmers will make a splash at Geographe Leisure Centre on Sunday, February 25, when the Georgiana Molloy Anglican School swimming club hosts its splash and dash carnival.

The SunSmart Splash and Dash Series is a Swimming WA initiative designed to attract new members to the sport and provide children with the opportunity to practise swimming in a low level competitive environment to increase their water confidence.

The carnival, which attracted more than 50 swimmers last year, is open to swimming WA members and children from primary schools or community-based swimming squads aged six to 11.

Events include 25m swims for six to eight-year-olds in breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke and butterfly, and 50m events for nine to 11-year-olds.

The top 10 swimmers in each carnival will be invited to enter the SunSmart Splash & Dash Series Final at HBF Stadium in Perth. The event starts at 9:30am for a 10am start. Entry is $4 per event plus Swimming WA administration fee.

Pool entry to the GLC is $5 a child with those under four and spectators free.
