Lane party crew calls for helpers

Hannay Lane street party organisers are calling for volunteers to help with their sundowner event.

The street will be transformed into an entertainment hub filled with food from local restaurants, with participants to enjoy face-painting, a licensed bar and entertainment.

Last year’s street party had about 1500-2000 people attend over the three-hour period and similar numbers are expected at this year’s event.

Hannay Lane enhancement group members Mandy Edwards and Noel Smith said the family-friendly event engaged the community with the lane and created a space for locals to enjoy.

“It’s purely for the locals to have a good time and enjoy the street and what we’re trying to achieve in the future,” Mr Smith said.

Ms Edwards said the event’s low-key, house party feel was what revellers had enjoyed last year.

The free Dunsborough and Districts Progress Association street party will be held on Friday, November 10 from 5.30pm-8.30pm.
