The marine search for a Singaporean national in his 20s near Yallingup has been called off due to dangerous conditions.

The man was swept off rocks at tourist hotspot Injidup Natural spa yesterday at 5.10pm.

Last night swells of up to 8m meant a helicopter and marine search were unable to locate the man before the search was stopped.

The marine search this morning was also called off because of dangerous conditions.

Dunsborough police Sgt Jane Gillham said police searched the rocks in Wyadup Bay and Injidup Beach with nothing found.

Sgt Gillham said police were continuing their search along the rocks on foot and the SES was also searching on foot.

The RAC Rescue Helicopter conducted a search of the area using FLIR thermal camera and spot lights and is continuing its search after refuelling in Bunbury this morning.

The conditions remain hazardous and the safety of searchers is paramount.

Police are attempting to contact the man’s family who they believe are not in the country.

Police have not released any further details about his identity at this stage.
