Medals for young star

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Dunsborough athletics star Isabella Bidesi represented Bunbury Little Athletics Club at the State Little Athletics Championship in Perth this month, the only under-10 athlete of all regional clubs.

The three-day event was held at Perth Athletic Stadium over the first weekend of March and saw 26 young athletes compete in each track event.

Isabella competed in the 200m, 400m and 800m events, smashing club records and taking out medals in each.

Isabella was crowned State champion in the 800m event, winning gold and beating the long-standing club record by more than eight seconds.

She also beat the 1973 record for the 400m event by more than two seconds and finished just 0.1 seconds off the 1970 record for 200m, winning gold in both events.
