“Awesome”, “pleasant” and “relieving” is how Donnybrook daredevil Josh Sheehan has described his feelings after his latest stunt.

The 31-year-old last Tuesday rode 30m across a lake on his motocross bike at Belmont Park Racecourse.

After hitting almost 100km/h and racing across the water with nothing to brace his fall, Sheehan told the Times he had fun doing the gravity-defying stunt.

“If you do not have enough speed, it really just wants to suck you into the water,” he said.

“Thankfully, with different gearing and a nice, long run-in, I was able to build enough speed.”

“It actually feels quite pleasant when you are just cruising onJU top of the water.

“You have to JUkeep JUeverything tight and going straight, but it is a nice, relaxing moment as you are skimming on top of the water.”

Sheehan said he tried something similar to Tuesday’s run for the first time just a few weeks ago.

“The only practising I did was at a friends dam and it was a struggle with the run up,” he said.

Sheehan said he believed next time he tried such a stunt he could go bigger and better.

“It was a nice relief. Almost straight away I though ‘damn, I could have gone much further’,” he said.

The stunt was part of the promotion for the world-renowned Nitro Circus’ tour of Australia — the Next Level Tour, which will come to Bunbury in April.

Sheehan will be one of the stars of the tour and said he was getting more excited as it got closer.

“I am really excited for the Nitro Tour coming up,” he said.
