Nominations for City of Busselton Annual Sports Awards now open

Nominations for the annual City of Busselton sports awards are now open. The awards, which aim to acknowledge and celebrate achievements from within the city’s sporting community, will be handed out on October 22. Awards are up for grabs for individuals including sportsperson of the year, para athlete of the year, coach of the year, official of the year, volunteer of the year and the lifetime achievement award. Clubs can nominate for the club of the year, team of the year, event of the year, inclusion program or event and club governance award. Mayor Phill Cronin said the city was “extremely proud to again host the sports awards”. “We understand the immense value sport brings to the local community and the need to celebrate our clubs and individuals, their passion, dedication and achievements,” he said. “We can learn many personal and community values through sport and how it can enrich our lives and bring community together.” Nominations for the awards close next Friday, September 27.
