Police plea for witness to bikers’ fatal crash

Busselton Dunsborough Times

A fatal collision between two motorcyclists in Nannup over the weekend is being investigated by major crash officers who are urging anyone who saw the incident or the motorcycles beforehand to call Crime Stoppers.

The crash took place about 2.30pm on Saturday, when a man riding a black 2015 model Harley-Davidson west along Brockman Highway with a group of other motorcyclists lost control of his bike, leaving the road and striking a tree stump.

After colliding with the stump, the motorcycle was propelled back onto the highway, at which point it was struck by another rider travelling with the group on a blue 2015 Harley-Davidson.

The second rider, a 45-year-old man, was thrown from his bike.

He suffered minor injuries and was driven to be treated at Nannup Hospital.

The first rider, a 48-year-old man, suffered critical injuries in the collision with the tree stump and was conveyed by ambulance to Bridgetown Hospital before being airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital, where he later died.
