Mitchell Park will be a scene of colour from today to Sunday as the 61st Art in the Park takes over the city’s central space.

The longstanding outdoor exhibition is the Busselton Art Society’s major annual fundraiser.

More than 300 paintings will be on display, along with 32 porcelain pieces.

All the work has been created by art society members and will be up for grabs at reasonable prices.

Besides the art exhibition, the event will feature woodturning demonstrations, children’s activities, food and entertainment.

Busselton Art Society president Dee Credaro said the works on display continued to improve year after year.

“If you want something that is a one-off, unique, high quality and original, this is the place to go,” she said.

“This year, we have an eclectic range of pieces with a huge variety of colours, mediums and subjects.

“There is something for everybody, there will be an art piece that you will love and by coming along, you will be supporting local artists.”

Art in the Park begins today at 8.30am, with the official opening and awards at 12.30pm.

It will run from 8.30am to 5pm on Saturday and 8.30am to 4pm on Sunday.
