Schoolchildren across Busselton and Bunbury were treated to a range of author events as part of the Between the Lines Literature Festival.

Organised by Dymocks Busselton, the festival was held over three days, with local and national authors and illustrators taking part.

Bestselling and award-winning children’s author Jacqueline Harvey spoke to students from Years 3-6 at St Mary MacKillop College about her latest release, Kensy and Max, as well as her other book series.

Harvey said the festival was a means to allow students to realise that the idea of a career path as an author was not out of reach and for her, meeting and engaging with her readers was important.

Busselton author Janine Beacham also spoke to students about her Rose Ravensthorpe Investigates novels, while Dianne Wolfer read some of her books for younger readers at the Busselton Library.
