Throughout December, the picturesque Port Geographe canals were lit with a dazzling display of Christmas lights.

The 2023 Port Geographe Canals Christmas Lights Cruise created lasting memories and a dazzling spectacle for everyone involved.

Residents enthusiastically embraced the call to light up the canal façades of their homes, contributing to the tapestry of lights that illuminated Port Geographe.

A record number of 26 homes participated in the annual Christmas lights competition, beating 2022’s total of 22.

The competition, which has been running for five years, aims to transform Port Geographe into the Christmas lights destination of WA’s South West.

Support from the City of Busselton helps illuminate the pedestrian bridges on the canals to enhance the lightshow.

The lights were best seen from the Port Geographe Christmas Lights Cruise that ran regularly from the main jetty at the Port Geographe Marina.

Both free and paid Christmas lights cruises were offered by event co-sponsors including Newport Geographe, Altair Estate, WIN Network, the Busselton-Dunsborough Mail, the City of Busselton, Port Geographe Marina, and Dale Alcock Homes South West.

More than 1250 people took the opportunity to enjoy the scenic cruise around the canals to admire the lights.

The competition is organised and sponsored by property development company the Aigle Royal Group, which provided substantial cash prizes to the deserving winners.

Plans are already in place for an even better spectacle in 2024.
