The City of Busselton this week announced the appointment of four local community representatives to the Lower Vasse River Management Advisory Group.

The group will help to maintain partnerships and a collaborative approach between the City and community concerning the management of the Lower Vasse River. Residents Vern Bussell, Keith Sims, Brent Burns, and Adriaan Hendrik Van der Wiele will make up the non-councillor contingent of the group.

The City received 14 applications from members of the public keen to represent the LVRMAG, many of whom had a significant long-term interest in local waterways.

They will join Rachelle Cousins representing the local Indigenous community, the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, GeoCatch, Cr Ross Paine, Cr Paul Carter, Cr Sue Riccelli and City planning and development officer Paul Needham and environment officer Mathilde Breton.

The advisory group is scheduled to have its first meeting in three weeks.
