Busselton Senior High School will celebrate its 60th anniversary next week, with past and present students and members of the wider community encouraged to attend and take a step back in time.

Two events will be held, which will include opening the campus to visitors, as well as a semi-formal event later that night.

The day will begin with a morning tea, school tours and performances by the Geographe Bay Music Jazz Band, as well as from past student Jake Bigwood, who since graduating in 2012, has sung with several groups including the WAAPA vocal ensemble Eneksis and the Perth Symphonic Chorus.

Photographs and uniforms tracing the school’s decades-long history will also be on display.

Principal Dainon Couzic said the school was proud to have thousands of alumni in the extended community who had attended BSHS for many years and he was looking forward to showcasing the school.

The campus will be open to the public from 10am-1pm on Saturday, August 11, while a ticketed celebration will be held that evening with a range of special guests including Alan Milne, who was first head boy at BSHS, and former MPs Troy Buswell, and Barry House.

Tickets for this event can be booked at trybooking.com/VBJO.
