Dunsborough Primary School was awarded the LandCorp Sustainability Award and $2000 prize money at the Regional Achievement and Community Awards.

The school won the award from a strong field of nominees and was one of 11 category winners announced in Perth on Friday, October 20.

About 500 guests from across the State gathered at the Hyatt Regency to celebrate the State’s high achievers and community contributors.

Dunsborough Primary School students were recognised for their daily sustainability practices including recycling, composting, animal care, and energy and water saving.

The school also holds a two-yearly Sustainability Expo which reaches into the community. and teaches sustainable behaviours to others.

The students also showed commitment for sustainability through events including Tree Planning with Planet Ark, Nude Food Day and the quarterly Walking School Bus.

The school received a $2000 prize money and a trophy.
