Schools are set to face off in South West junior challenge

Schools will put their hand-eye co-ordination to the test this year as a new junior table tennis competition takes the South West by storm. Expected to provide young athletes with a competitive outlet, the Table Tennis South West Schools Challenge will start in June. Schools are invited to enter a maximum of two teams in the June 25 competition, organised by Geographe Bay Table Tennis Club. “This event has been organised for juniors who love to play table tennis competitively with their friends at school and would like the challenge to compete against other school teams,” club co-ordinator Carolyn Herring said. “There will be a separate division for primary and secondary teams and all schools are invited to enter.” The tournament will be run by Busselton’s Smash Hit head coach Matt Cheng, junior State table tennis player Obie Herring and club president Reg Peet.
