Three South West scouts have been awarded the highest Cub Scout honour for their community contributions and efforts over the past year with the 1st Cape Naturaliste Scout group.

Tara Tutt, 11, Cielo Howard, 10, and Zavier Fekete, 10, were awarded the Grey Wolf award and said they were proud to be recognised for their ongoing achievements.

Group leader Kelly Everett said the award required the young scouts to meet numerous criteria.

“Reaching Grey Wolf first required earning the Gold Boomerang award alongside a number of badges,” she said.

“They participated in several scout camps, designing a resource for other cub scouts to learn more about the Scout promise and law, as well as planning and leading a two-hour hike,” she said.

“The cubs worked very hard during a particularly difficult year, where scouts was delivered online for the first time ever.”
