Snaps a personal view of the world

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Award-winning Dunsborough photographer Christian Fletcher’s latest exhibition will open next week and it is unlike any other collection he has presented before.

A Different View features 50 new images from Fletcher’s personal archives, showing off contemporary works captured during his travels around the world.

All images are exclusively one-time prints and provide the audience with a new take on subjects, some of which have been snapped countless times.

An example of this is Fletcher’s shot of Oljato —Monument Valley on the Utah-Arizona border.

“It isn’t the classic view that you have seen in countless Hollywood Westerns but an interesting view from the carpark,” he said.

“It is these different views beyond the normal that I find so fascinating.”

Fletcher explained the new exhibition was all about his favourite photographs.

“I went through numerous hard drives and found works that I loved but for one reason or another never got to be shown in print,” he said.

“I am so happy with the collection as it represents all the styles of photography I love.

“From the classic landscape image to more contemporary urban scenes, it is where my heart is at the moment.”

A Different View will open on Monday and run to May 14

at the Christian Fletcher Gallery at 4/27 Dunn Bay Road, Dunsborough.
