Surf Life Saving Club honours members
Smiths Beach Surf Life Saving Club celebrated its members on Sunday with a gathering at its shed.
The club recognised members for their contribution to water safety in the region and their work during the season.
Club president Keith Warrick thanked volunteers for a great season. The club recorded 332 patrol hours this season compared to six hours last season.
Anna-Lise Murch was named club member of the year.
She had the season’s highest patrolling hours, spending 27 hours patrolling Smiths Beach.
Club captain David Russell said patrols would increase next season, from December 16-March 3 from 9am-3pm.
