The Studio Gallery and Bistro will, from tomorrow until March 27, be home to Lori Pensini’s highly anticipated solo art exhibition Nectar.

Pensini said the exhibition, featuring a combination of portraiture and landscape paintings, focused on the wattle, Australia’s national flower and the banksia. She said the nectar producers played a vital part in the food chain of Australian wildlife and inspired her art.

“Holding prominence in the Australian bush with both ecological and cultural significance, the wattle and banksia are quintessentially the metaphoric fabric of my current art practice,” she said.

“The dominant use of yellow, the flush of early spring embodies fertility of mind and body and hints at the women we are and are to become.”

The exhibition opens at 6pm with an opportunity to meet the artist while enjoying live music with drinks and canapes.
