Young athletes are being encouraged to play T-ball as the summer season kicks off next month on October 17.

The Busselton Tee-Ball Association was founded almost 40 years ago and the committee is itching to bring the sport back to its former glory.

Busselton Tee-Ball Association vice-president Danielle Paull said the sport was once the summer activity of choice.

“With the large number of other sporting opportunities for children over the summer months, we are now a relatively small association,” Ms Paull said.

T-ball is a modified version of baseball and focuses on the fundamental movement skills of throwing, catching and running.

A come-and-try day will take place this afternoon from 4.30pm at Lou Weston Oval.
