Teen ready for world stage
Busselton mountain biking star Jayden Fraser has qualified for the 2020 World Enduro Series.
The 18-year-old completed a huge year on the bike winning the WA championship and ranking in the top 50 in the world under 21.
Fraser, who simultaneously qualified for world series while completing Year 12, is contemplating competing in seven northern hemisphere events this year.
He plans to journey to Whistler in Canada in August for the Crankworx festival, which includes a collaboration of the world’s greatest mountain bike events, starting with the Enduro World Series race.
Fraser said it was a dream come true, and a perfect way to fill in his gap year prior to starting university next year. “I am thrilled at being given this opportunity to compete on the world stage,” he said.
“To experience the terrain and elevation that Whistler provides will be amazing.” Jayden is one of four West Australians to make the top 100, with Margaret River’s Roly Kyme and Corben Weinert of Albany. The trio will join Perth’s Sam Hill on the World Series.
