Three times the charm
A selfless Coles worker will run the equivalent of three marathons in one day to raise money for Telethon.
Jon Richards will run from Coles Vasse to Coles Busselton 11 times within 24 hours, saying he chose to run the length of three marathons because two sounded too easy.
“I think it will be quite hard, the more I think about it,” he admitted this week.
“The most I’ve ever run is one marathon length, which is 42.2km.”
The Busselton man said he hoped to raise $3000 for Telethon.
The 126.6km run is set to take place on September 26, with Mr Richards’ friends and family cheering him on. Telethon was created by the community of Western Australia to ensure better lives for the State’s children, and Mr Richards said it was one of his favourite causes to donate to.
