Dunsborough audiences are set for a rocking start to the long weekend, with Toast Volume Two being held tonight.

Organised by local music personality Mitch Baker, Toast is the second instalment of a free live music event hosted by Dunsborough Tavern,

The event will feature teenage pop-rock band Sonatay, before the amalgamation of two local bands, Dallas Royal and Desert Radio — dubbed Dallas Radio — take the stage.

The evening will be capped off with DJ Tehski spinning some beats.

Baker said Toast was about appreciating live music.

“We love local talent here in the South West and we’re always looking for fresh new acts to show off,” he said.

Sonatay will play a variety of pop-rock flavoured covers and original songs to get the crowd warmed up.

Bassist Ned Pardington said he was inspired by blues artists such as George Thorogood and Elmore James but the band had a range of influences.

“Anything from the Rolling Stones, the Beatles and AC/DC to Missy Higgins and Jack Johnson, we like a whole lot of different stuff which makes us and our sound unique,” Pardington said.

“You can expect to hear a bunch of tunes that you’ll know and that you’ll be able to sing along too all night.

“With the guys from Dallas Royal and Desert Radio up after us its set to be a big night.”

The event begins at 8pm.
