Western Australian water users have been advised to switch on their ‘Sea Sense’ as shark advice was issued for the weekend for scheduled maintenance which will affect the Shark Monitoring Network.

The maintenance is set to affect all 32 satellite-linked receivers, delaying the delivery of tagged shark detection notifications between 6pm tomorrow and 6am on Sunday.

Reported shark sightings are deemed not to be affected by the maintenance and will be published as normal.

Beach goers were asked to adhere to beach closure signs, check shark activity on the SharkSmart website, and to report any sightings to the water police on 9442 8600.
