The next project of Busselton’s foreshore redevelopment plan is in full swing with construction of a new adventure playground beginning this week.

The first stage of construction of the new playground started on Monday, with works in progress in the central core area of the Busselton Foreshore.

Designed by the team who created the Rio Tinto Playground in Kings Park, the adventure playground will have a nautical theme with large-scale features including a clipper ship, climbing elements and a whale tail beach shower, suitable for older children.

A new and separate train-themed toddler playground will be created in the space between Railway House and the Skate-park.

The playgrounds are scheduled to open in time for summer.

The City also confirmed while the amphitheatre’s shell roof installation had suffered setbacks, construction was expected to be wrapped up by the end of next week.
