Coronavirus: Busselton man charged with hotel quarantine breach

Police have charged a West Busselton man who allegedly tried to escape from hotel quarantine yesterday.

The 56-year-old arrived at Perth Airport from Singapore on Friday and was ordered to quarantine for 14 days..

Police will allege he left his hotel room yesterday and was approached by security guards asking him to return.

The man then allegedly became aggressive towards the security and police were called to assist.

He continued to act in an aggressive manner towards attending officers and was subsequently charged with failing to comply with a direction.

The man is due to appear at the Perth Magistrate’s Court today.

Police said their investigation relating to the actions of the man is continuing and further charges may follow.
