Amy Sarah Davis: WA woman accused of being ‘Mr Blonde’ operative granted bail despite new charge

This is the young woman police suspect is a key player in a major drug syndicate run by a mysterious criminal mastermind known as Mr Blonde. Amy Sarah Davis was behind bars for two months after being extradited from Melbourne to Perth to face allegations she orchestrated a shipment of 3kg of meth into WA and co-ordinated the laundering of more than $3 million. But she has recently been released on bail to stay with her parents in Dunsborough, where she was pictured earlier this week. The 34-year-old, who has to wear an ankle monitor, was let out despite being charged with another offence — this time for allegedly offering to sell and supply 493g of meth in Lynwood in November last year. The West Australian revealed earlier this month that police suspect Ms Davis is a high level figure in the Mr Blonde drug syndicate, allegedly using encrypted devices and the codename “Madison” to direct drug deliveries in three States. Mr Blonde, who derives his name from the sadistic killer played by Michael Madsen in the Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs, is said to be an Australian living overseas with connections to the notorious Aussie Cartel. Police say the syndicate mastermind uses the pseudonym — along with a network of encrypted phones — to shield his true identity from even the couriers who shift his drugs and cash around Australia. He managed to escape Australian Federal Police’s 2021 Operation Ironside sting in which officers dismantled trafficking networks using the global An0m messaging app, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. During the first half of Ms Davis’ bail application hearing in Perth Magistrates Court in October police opposed her getting out, telling the court she had also allegedly instructed an associate to store millions of dollars in safe houses in Gosnells, including burying large stashes of cash in a backyard. She also allegedly tried to purchase 5kg of meth for $1 million from an undercover operative posing as a seller. That hearing was adjourned, with Magistrate Anthony Sullivan ordering a home detention report be prepared. It resumed on November 8 with police prosecutors telling the court it still opposed Ms Davis being granted bail because of the seriousness of the allegations and that she was a flight risk. But her lawyer Michael Tudori argued while his client was living in Melbourne when extradited, she also had ties to WA and would be staying with her parents in Dunsborough if granted bail. He said Ms Davis would not only be subject to electronic monitoring but would be “under the watchful eye” of her parents. Mr Tudori said his client had not offended over the past year, and pointed out that he had other clients who were accused of trafficking much higher quantities than Ms Davis who had been granted bail. Mr Sullivan said while he understood the quantity of drugs was not as high as others, it was the alleged role Ms Davis played in the nationwide syndicate that put the alleged offending into the serious category. And while he acknowledged the prosecution’s concerns she was a flight risk, he said measures could be put in place to address that. He granted Ms Davis bail on a $500,000 surety and warned her parents — who offered up their house as surety — that they could lose it if she tried to flee. He also banned her from contacting her co-accuseds, applying for a passport and using internet-enabled devices. She is expected back in court in January.
