Broadwater murder: Tributes flow for mother Tara Morrison as alleged killers face court

The 38-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered in Broadwater has been remembered as a “loving mother” as her two alleged killers front court for the first time. The pair accused of murdering Tara Morrison at a home in Broadwater appeared in Bunbury Magistrates Court on Monday and will remain in custody. Police allege James Anthony Sorgiovanni, 26, and Hannah Louise Glover, 28, murdered Tara Marie Morrison, 38, at a Broadwater home between Thursday and Friday. It is believed to be the residence of Ms Glover. Loved ones of Ms Morrison have paid tribute to her over social media, with Tammy Morrison — who is believed to be her sister — saying she leaves behind an 11-year-old son. “To everyone, the woman who tragically passed away was not just a 38-year-old woman, she was Tara Morrison, a loving mother who leaves behind an 11-year-old son, Kade, who was at his grandmother’s house during the incident,” she said. Ashleigh Chester said that it was “beautiful” watching Ms Morrison care for her young son while describing her alleged murder as “horrific”. “Tara Morro, this devastating loss, what a tragedy, your death, an absolutely horrific crime,” she said. “Tara Morrison, a mother, a friend, a daughter, a sister and a granddaughter, a really special individual. “I wish this was never part of your story.” The pair had met each other at the now-closed Esther House rehabilitation centre. “You were a go-getter, a hard worker when focused, your heart was so big and always in the right place, I know life wasn’t easy, but leaving the world like this, is so f...... unfair,” she said. “My family are praying for Kade and your family. . . rest in peace my sister, you were loved by many many people, from many walks of life. “Your story doesn’t end here, you will live on through memories and in the hearts of each and every person who was blessed to have known and loved you.” Mr Sorgiovanni and Ms Glover were arrested separately on Saturday before being charged on Sunday and early on Monday, respectively. They appeared in court on one count of murder each and only spoke to confirm they understood the charges. Neither made an application for bail. Police say they attended a Bell Drive property just after 8pm on Friday, April 12 to conduct a welfare check. During a check of the home, they found Ms Morrison. Police say Ms Morrison knew her alleged killers, but the nature of their relationship is unclear. Police refused to comment on how she died, although it’s believed a weapon was involved. A two-year-old child related to one of the women was also at the property. Homicide detectives are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Bell Drive or has CCTV or dash-cam vision of the area between 6pm on Thursday and 8pm on Friday to contact them. They would also like to speak to anyone who saw or has dash-cam vision of a man and a woman holding a toddler, riding an e-scooter from Busselton to Margaret River between 6pm on Thursday and 8pm on Friday.
