A man has held back tears as he told a Sydney court former king of the airwaves Alan Jones kissed him and groped him nearly 20 years ago, saying it left him feeling “violated”.

Mr Jones, 85, has pleaded not guilty to 22 charges relating to six male alleged victims and is standing trial in the Downing Centre Local Court.

The former radio broadcaster has denied kissing or groping the complainants and is fighting 20 counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual touching.

On day eight of the trial on Friday., the court is hearing from a man, who can only be known as “Complainant C”.

The court was previously told C met Jones professional setting over 20 years ago.

Mr Jones has been charged with eight counts of indecent assault relating to “C” and has strenuously and continuously denied the allegations.

Mr Jones allegedly touched “C” on the penis on the outside of his clothes as he drove the veteran broadcaster.

It’s further alleged Mr Jones kissed the man in the lifts at his Circular Quay apartment building and work premises.

Mr Jones also allegedly touched “C” on the penis, on the outside of his clothing, at a Mosman restaurant.

The man was questioned by Crown prosecutor Georgina Wright on Friday, with his evidence to continue on Monday.

‘Copped a feel’

C told the court he was seated next to Mr Jones during a lunch at a Mosman restaurant at the end of 2008 when Mr Jones placed his left hand on his leg and penis, on the outside of his clothes.

“I looked down and his hand was on my penis,” C told the court.

C said Mr Jones only removed his hand to eat his lunch or to gesture to others at the table.

The man said that while in the parking lot, another person who was in attendance commented to him about Mr Jones.

“(He) said to me something along the lines of ‘you copped a feel under the table, didn’t you? Did you like it?’” C told the court.

The man said he felt “deeply deeply embarrassed” knowing that others had seen Mr Jones’ hand on his leg.

The 2GB studios allegations

C also told the court Mr Jones kissed him in the lifts at the Macquarie St building “many times”.

The man said Mr Jones also kissed him in the lifts at 2GB’s Pyrmont Studios while travelling down to the basement car park.

“The doors would shut and Alan would come towards me and kiss me,” C told the court.

Asked by Ms Wright why he didn’t push him off, C replied: “You couldn’t, he was Alan Jones”.

C added Mr Jones wielded “extraordinary power”.

“Do I regret not fighting back - every day,” C told the court.

“But you couldn’t.”

‘I didn’t want him to kiss me’

Through tears, C told the court of how Mr Jones kissed him while in the lift in the carpark basement of the famed broadcaster’s Macquarie St apartment building.

He said he saw Mr Jones approach him in the lift and dropped his head to his chin to avoid him.

C said Mr Jones then moved in and kissed him on the mouth.

“I moved my head saying ‘no, no, no’,” C told the court.

“I didn’t want him to kiss me.”

The man told the court Mr Jones kissed him in the lift on several other occasions.

He said he felt like he “couldn’t say no” because the power dynamic was “extraordinary”.

C told the court of another kiss: “I wasn’t kissing him back.”

‘Violated’

C said Mr Jones on one occasion touched him on the knee as he drove him home to his Macquarie St apartment.

He said on the first occasion Mr Jones left his hand there for about 10 seconds.

Asked if he had invited Mr Jones to touch him, C told the court “absolutely not” before adding it made him feel “really uncomfortable”.

C said Mr Jones touched him on the leg several more times in similar circumstances while driving before Mr Jones touched him on the penis on the outside of his clothing.

“I felt his hand go … up my left leg and over my penis on the outside of my pants,” C told the court.

He said it caused him to squirm but his hands were on the steering wheel.

C said it left him “frozen” and made him feel “violated”.

“I never had a man touch me on the penis before, I am not gay,” C told the court.

‘Love bombing’

C told the court he began receiving text messages from Mr Jones, some of which called him “darling” and included the words “love”.

He told the court it felt like “romantic stuff”.

“I don’t know why you would send that sort of stuff if you didn’t feel a certain way towards someone,” C testified.

He said Mr Jones would send messages about the size of his penis as well as “lovey” and “sexual” messages that felt like “love bombing”.

Meeting Jones

C said he first interacted with Mr Jones at an awards show in the mid 2000s.

He told the court he was “star struck” speaking to him for the first time, having grown up listening to Mr Jones on talkback radio.

C said on one occasion he drove Mr Jones down to his Fitzroy Falls farm after picking him up in the evening.

He said it felt like Mr Jones was “like flirting” with him, which he described as “weird”.

C testified he was shown to a bedroom by Mr Jones, who lingered there for 15 to 20 seconds.

“But it was a long time when you’re just looking at someone,” C told the court.

He said Jones left the room when he said “goodnight mate”.

C said the following day Mr Jones’ demeanour had changed, saying he wasn’t “unpleasant” but he wasn’t jovial like the night before.

C said he drove back to Sydney without Mr Jones.
