Body found at rest stop near Tamworth

A man's body has been found inside a campervan parked at a northern NSW rest stop, with the vehicle's drawers found open and a generator missing.

Police found the body at the Goonoo Goonoo Station on the New England Highway south of Tamworth on Monday morning.

The man is yet to be identified and police say the events leading up to the man's death remain unclear.
