CCTV footage of a girl running next to Albany Highway after an alleged murder of a Perth mum has been released.

The footage shows a girl running alongside shopfronts on Albany Highway at 6.16am on Tuesday morning.

Police believe a teenage boy stabbed his mum to death at a home in Bentley on Tuesday, and seriously injured his 12-year-old sister.

Officers rushed to the Mills Street property about 6.15am where they found a 35-year-old female dead.

The 12-year-old girl was found with serious injuries about 600 metres away after fleeing the home and managing to call police.

Police confirmed they are investigating the death as a suspected family violence homicide.
