The man, who does not have a valid visa, is the director of a construction company that has been hiring foreigners who do not have work rights in Australia.

The ABF says the man withdrew more than $5.5 million from business bank accounts in recent years, with more than $1 million remitted offshore to China.

Acting ABF commander of field operations Sally McAuliffe said “significant resources” were being spent on targeting those exploiting foreign workers.

“This man was identified as a key player in the exploitation of foreign workers in WA’s construction industry,” she said.

“The ABF will not tolerate those people who are making significant profits from the exploitation of vulnerable foreign workers.”

ABF has urged anyone who knows someone who is facilitating visa fraud or illegal work to contact Border Watch at australia.gov.au/borderwatch.
