A man has been charged over two separate stabbing robberies in 2019 and 2020 in Sydney's southwest.

The first in March 2019 was a machete attack in a home that left the victim with stab wounds to his hand, chest and ear.

He told police he was robbed and attacked the day before at St Andrews.

The second attack occurred in the early hours of August 31, 2020.

Emergency services were called to a Claymore home, where they found a man suffering stab wounds to his chest and hands.

The victim told police he was robbed of two mobile phones and a watch. He had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

Police arrested a 32-year-old man on Wednesday, charging him with a string of offences including causing wounding with intent to murder.

Officers seized four mobile phones and a stun gun at a home in Claymore on Thursday.

The man was formally refused bail at Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday and will reappear on April 7.
