Perth: Freightliner tip-truck driver charged over death of mobile crane operator in Lexia crash

A tip-truck driver has been charged over the death of a 49-year-old mobile crane operator after a fatal collision near Ellenbrook, north of Perth.

The Freightliner truck and mobile crane collided at the intersection of Gnangara and Gaskell roads in Lexia just before 7am on Tuesday.

The crane driver sustained catastrophic injuries from the impact and died at the scene of the crash.

Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section charged the 31-year-old tip truck driver with dangerous driving occasioning death.

He will face Midland Magistrates Court on May 31.
