Strangers attack pair in Northbridge then steal their belongings

A man and woman were brutally assaulted by a group of strangers and had their belongings stolen in Northbridge early this morning.

The man, 31, and woman, 26, were walking along the footpath on William Street near Roe Street when they were assaulted by the group.

The woman was thrown to the ground and kicked a number of times. She also had her handbag stolen.

The man was punched several times, resulting in a cut to his head.

The pair were taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.
