Yalyalup crash: RAC Rescue helicopter transporting patient to Royal Perth Hospital after head-on collision

The RAC Rescue helicopter has been tasked with airlifting a seriously injured male after a head-on collision in the South West. Emergency services personnel were called to the crash between two cars, in Yalyalup, a suburb of Busselton, about 9.45am. Department of Fire and Emergency Services firefighters helped free a man, aged in his 70s, who was trapped inside one of the vehicles. The RAC Rescue helicopter was also called in to assist, and transported a patient to Royal Perth Hospital. He is in a serious but stable condition. The extent of their injuries are unclear at this stage, but it is understood the male who was in one of the cars was seriously injured. The male and a child in the second car were also taken to hospital but were not seriously injured.
