A boy who was dramatically winched out of Lesmurdie Falls after falling and injuring himself is recovering in hospital.

A Perth Children’s Hospital spokeswoman said on on Tuesday that the eight-year-old was in a stable condition.

The RAC Rescue chopper was sent to help rescue the injured child at the tourist hotspot in Forresfield about 3.30pm on Monday.

Firefighters conducted a tricky vertical rescue, winching the boy to safety from the bottom of the rocky waterfall.

Dramatic images captured by the 7NEWS chopper showed several firefighters on the rocky terrain as the young child was loaded onto a stretcher before the helicopter lifted him out.
