Caravan destroyed by ‘suspicious’ fire at Glenfield

Geraldton detectives are treating as suspicious, a fire which destroyed a caravan.

The fire, on a private property on North West Coastal Highway at Glenfield, happened around 2.50am on Sunday.

A propane gas bottle in the caravan, which was used for storage, exploded. Department of Fire and Emergency Services extinguished the blaze.

Investigators want to speak to the driver of a vehicle parked near the property between midnight and the time of the fire. The vehicle had hazard lights flashing.

Local detectives also are seeking anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area prior to the fire.

“We urge anyone with dash-cam vision of North West Coastal Highway between midnight and 3am to come forward,” police said.
