Geraldton’s Ugle Fabrications La Fiamma are expecting a tough test this week as they travel to face Fremantle SC in Perth, having beaten them 3-0 at home in the first round.

Player-coach Keegan Roos said despite the positive result in the previous match-up, he expected a tough fight with several players away or unable to travel. “It’s a game to show whether we have what it takes to fight against the top sides of the league,” Roos said.

“We got our first three points (for the season) at home against Freo last time out, and it’s definitely a game that Freo are looking to get back at us in after round one.

“It will be interesting to see how we respond to a fourth different formation and (set of) tactics over the season due to player availability this weekend.” He said the side needed to take at least a draw to avoid going to the bottom of the Belt Up Amateur Division three standings.

Cameron Brown is UF La Fiamma’s top scorer this season and the side have welcomed Sonnie Chikomo back from injury. Shaun Hudson, Simon Moffatt and Roos all scored to consign Kalamunda to a 3-0 loss last weekend, with Lachlan Gray providing a spot-on assist for man-of-the-match Hudson’s goal.
