The Katanning Tennis Club finished off their season in style with their signature intra club competition earlier this month.

A strong line-up of 28 players took to the courts under the newly installed lights in a bid to determine who had made the biggest improvements across the summer tennis season.

Brooke Dellacqua dominated as she took out the singles ladies event, the mixed doubles event alongside Geoff Stade and the doubles event alongside Claire Payne.

In a tight battle between brothers and farming colleagues, Geoff Stade edged out his brother David Stade - 6-4, 0-6, 10-7 - in the final to be crowned as the Men’s Club Champion for this year.

This was the third time Geoff has edged out his brother David Stade in the final of the competition, which he said has “worn thin” dinner time on their family farm.

“Both of us had very long semi-finals so we were both very fatigued before the final had even started,” he said.

“All the games were very even throughout the competiton. There were no easy games.”

The winners were presented with new country club uniforms and the runners up took home a new country club hat.

The players were without their club rooms for the event, as the back half of the Katanning Country Club undergoes renovations to install new rooms and a playground to help create a more family friendly environment for locals to watch tennis from for next season.
