Katanning Netball Association’s grand final day on Saturday had some tightly contested matches across the grades at the Katanning Leisure & Function Centre, with three clubs taking home 2026 season titles.

Olympians took the A-reserves title after defeating Allstars in a thrilling grand final.

The two sides faced off in the qualifying final, and Allstars fought their way through the finals rounds after going down 51-41 in the that match.

They came to the grand final ready to put the pressure on.

It was a close game from the start, with Allstars making a strong start but four unanswered goals from Olympians’ Jamie-Lee Flugge in the dying minutes of the first quarter keeping her side in the game.

The second term finished with scores at 21-all, setting up an exciting second half.

A final flurry from Olympians late in the third term had them finally break away, adding six goals in the last five minutes of playing time to carve out a three-goal advantage heading into the final quarter.

Allstars kept pushing, but Olympians managed to stay two steps ahead, keeping hold of their slim leading margin until the final whistle to walk off winners and A-reserves champions.

The undefeated Kia Ora walked off winners in the B-grade grand final, defeating Kojonup 50-46.

Kia Ora made a fast start and didn’t let the pressure up, leading by seven goals at the first change and charging through the second term to finish the first half 15 goals ahead.

Kojonup came out firing after the long break, pushing hard to close the margin and get within four goals of the leaders, putting themselves back in contention with only one quarter left to play.

They kept pushing to keep Kia Ora on their toes, but the top side prevailed in the end.

In the C-grade grand final Allstars defeated Olympians in another tight game, taking home the title 39-36.

It was Olympians who made the better start, with shooters Sydnee Bolt and Tiarna Clifford working hard in the circle to net a combined 15 goals, giving Olympians a four-goal lead by the end of the first term.

Olympians kept the momentum through the second, pushing hard early in the quarter to widen their leading margin to eight goals.

However, Allstars found their feet and pushed back, closing the gap to four goals by the end of the second term.

Olympians stayed just out of reach in the third, but Allstars made the final quarter count, with shooters Penelope-Lee Kumeroa-Puru and Karleesha Wallam shooting seven uninterrupted goals to flip the scoreboard and give their side a tight lead.

Despite Olympians’ best efforts, this proved the turning point of the game and they struggled to get the game back under control, leaving Allstars to finish winners 39-36.
