The Harvey Hawks have clinched the South West Soccer Association’s Division 1 title with three games remaining in the season.

Harvey Hawks 2 — one of two Harvey teams in the competition — claimed the title late last month with a 5-1 win over the Manjimup Rovers.

The Hawks started the competition like a bull at a gate and won their first five games with a goal difference of 33.

The eventual league winners did not drop a game until round seven when they were beaten by their club mates and Harvey’s other side 3-2.

Harvey Hawks 2 would continue their winning ways with big victories throughout the year, including a remarkable 14-3 thrashing of Australind and a 10-0 thumping of the Manjimup Rovers.

With three games to play, the Hawks have lost just two games for the year, with a 5-3 loss against Dalyellup FC joining the Harvey derby as their only other stumble.

This weekend, Hawks 2 will play Eaton-Dardanup — who they have beaten 8-0 and 3-1 throughout the year — to put a further exclamation point on the title, before facing the Bunbury Dynamos and Harvey Hawks to finish the year.

Meanwhile, Harvey Hawks 1 still have a chance to finish second in the league after beating Australind 2-0 at the weekend.

The side will face Dalyellup FC next who they have beaten 1-0 and 3-0 before playing Hawks 2 in their final match of the year.

Hawks 1 are in third spot, level on points with the second-placed Eaton-Dardanup, but with one game in hand.
