Brick charity exceeds goal
The wall of colourful brick mosaics inside Dunsborough’s Hot Chocolatte has continued to swell with community support for its local paramedics.
About $4000 has been raised as part of the cafe’s buy-a-brick fundraiser, which will go to the St John Ambulance Service to provide defibrillators at all the town’s shopping centres.
Co-ordinator Jessie McCamish said it had been an “awesome” effort.
A further 200 bricks were purchased, with a lot of businesses donating up to $100 to have their logos drawn.
Miss McCamish is also the artist in charge of drawing on the bricks, and has devoted hours to the task, taking between 10 to 25 minutes for each brick.
The buy-a-brick fundraiser is ongoing and anyone interested can purchase a brick for $15.
