Paint to help reach creative target

Busselton Dunsborough Times

An explosion of creativity and fun will take place at Mitchell Park in Busselton on Wednesday, October 12, to encourage youth to release stress and tension.

As part of Mental Health Week, Room 226, supported by mental health support organisation Lamp Inc, will be hosting a Youth Community Stress Less event.

Young people will be encouraged to throw, squirt and splash paint at giant canvases and enjoy music and food as part of the festivities.

Event co-ordinator Nicole Slevec said, through the activities available on the day, young people would be given the opportunity to express themselves in a positive manner and transfer these tools to release stress from all aspects of their school, home, social and work lives.

“Stress is a part of all of our lives and can have a negative affect on us if we don’t release some of it,” she said.

“This day is a perfect time to release some stress or tension and most importantly celebrate being young and having fun.”

The event will be held from 10am to 2pm, with community members welcome to attend.
