Broncos coach Kevin Walters has dismissed any injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s grand final and says the 17 players who were named will take the field against Penrith.

Strike centre Herbie Farnworth sent a scare through the camp on Tuesday when he limped off during training and failed to finish the session.

He wasn’t the only one, with key spine members Reece Walsh and Adam Reynolds requiring treatment for minor leg complaints, but Brisbane’s coach says they are in no doubt for the grand final.

“They are all good. Just a few little niggles,” Walters said on SENQ Breakfast.

“Herbie was a bit tight through his quad, Payne Haas was a bit sore in the shoulder and Reece Walsh was tight in the hamstring.

“It’s all just precautionary and we are only three days post-game and generally players are a bit sore and stiff.

“The 17 players named will be right to go on Sunday night.”

The Broncos arrive in Sydney on Wednesday and are the outsiders against a Panthers side preparing for its fourth grand final in as many years.

It’s a different story for Brisbane who haven’t been in an NRL decider since 2015, with the club looking to win its first title in 17 years.

There’s an old adage in footy that you need to lose one to win one, but this Broncos team looks ready to buck that trend, with Walsh unstoppable at the back and Reynolds’ experience invaluable.

It’s why Walters is telling his players to soak up grand final week, with the Broncos 80 minutes away from winning a title just three years after they claimed the wooden spoon.

“We need to embrace the week because it’s a great week for the players, coaches and the football club to be involved in,” Walters said.

“We have made sure that our planning is meticulous leading into Sunday night. We need to get it right on Sunday and that’s the most important thing.

“We’ve been well planned and that’s a real credit to the coaching staff.

“We have experienced staff who have all played in big games before (and) some really good experienced players on the field.”
