YMHC no match for dominant Norths in men’s A1 hockey

YMHC last weekend became the latest casualty in the Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association’s A1 men’s competition against a rampaging Norths, whose 5-0 win paved the way for a 12th consecutive victory.

Chris Souchon led Norths’ charge with a best-on-ground display, with goal scorers including Jade McAullay, Lachie Wilde, Harry Howston, and Luke Murphy.

Norths’ closest match was a 2-1 win over CBC in round 10, but they have conceded just five goals all season.

To put that dominance into content, second-placed CBC are seven wins adrift and have conceded 31 goals while scoring 24.

Also last weekend, CBC edged Mines, 2-1, on goals to Chris Connolly and Leium Bernhardt.

Hayden Clarke was the scorer for the blue-and-whites.

In the men’s A2 division, Greg Ford scored twice in CBC’s 3-0 win over Mines and Norths beat YMHC, 6-0.

Luke Munro and Daniel Lavery each scored two goals for Norths.

Eddie McKenzie was YMHC’s best player.
